EXTENDED CAMPING AT HIBERNIA GOOD FOR CAMPERS & LOCAL ECONOMY
Area #2 of Hibernia State Recreation Area on Kerr Lake was bulging with folks camping and apparently enjoying the cold nights, crisp mornings and warm afternoons!

Campers have wanted to see an extended season on the western shore of the North Carolina leg of Kerr Lake for years.
It is a holiday weekend, so at 34 campsites X $150 a day X 3 days, the local Vance County economy probably got a an economic boost of about $15,000, and that’s just for a weekend, noting that not many campsites are occupied during the week this time.
The extension cost the state very little; some extra electricity. The increased season at Hibernia is good for the park, the campers and the local economy.
