NEW FACILTIES & NEWLY RENOVATED FACILITIES HAPPENING AT KERR LAKE

While a few more sites are being rehabilitated on the NC side of Kerr Lake, some huge renovations are taking place on the Virginia side.  A new marina operator is gearing up on the NC side and a new marina is being built on the Virginia side of Kerr Lake.

As shown in the picture below, the Turner Family is camping in a newly renovated electric and water site that’s part of the 600 sites operated in the seven NC State Recreation Areas on Kerr Lake.

KLPW interviewed the family.  “We’re thrilled with plenty of level room to put out the slide and awning.”  “We like that there’s no board between the picnic area and the camper area.  That let’s us decide where to put the camper to fit our needs.”  “We like the well packed (fines) around the picnic table.”  “Now if they’ll just finish the path to the lake.”

So hats off to the managers and the workers who joined together for some site rehabilitation on the North Carolina side.  More to come on the renovations on the Virginia side.

Construction is rolling along with the completion of 40 boat slips, and the marina store along with the office at the new Rudd’s Creek Marina.  The photo just above shows the new store.  Soon to open, it will be a full service marina with stack dry boat storage as well as other services.
